I'm reading a good book. I prepped all veggie and fruit snacks for the week.I got to spend a lot of time with family and friends this week.
Shout out for all the domestic violence victims who could not get divorced because their bishops and stake leaders told them to stay and would not allow temple divorces. So many women trapped in this oppressive religion.
To a God Unknown is my absolute favorite of his, but I also love The Winter of Our Discontent.
Mine dislodged after 2 months. Went to the ER, and the doctor said he couldn't see the strings to pull it out, so I had to make an appointment with an OBGYN. That was Friday night. I wasn't able to make an appointment until Monday afternoon. I had to pay $300 for an out of network OB to be seen as soon as possible. She said the strings were visible and took it out in 2 seconds. At any point, it could have perforated my uterus. That was one of the most terrifying experiences I've ever had.
I don't think it's about being smarter than God it's about understanding why that generation had to die. Child death and suffering are particularly hard for anyone to understand, especially under the context of Christianity. It is hard to comprehend why a God who loves his creations would initiate their pain, suffering, and death. If you feel like there is context missing that helps others understand why it happened this way, then you should provide it.

I am grateful that I did not have to pay for insurance for that time period, but UHC made so much from a government contract and fucked over countless families in the process. They were so bad that the majority of providers would not accept them, creating a nonexistent network.
There's a difference between LDS and FLDS. The enclaves are part of a separate church than the one Mitt is from. It is confusing because they are both separate branches from the same tree, but they are not the same religion. Mainstream Mormons are very separate from the fundamentalist sects.
Even now, it is rarely given investigation time or prosecuted. It's disheartening to learn how victims are treated but also the statistics of how many sexual assaults 1 perpetrator is responsible for.
Spousal rape was not illegal until 1993. Some states have differing marital rape laws.
Genetic drift.
There's a lot of research that shows that people can be successful in their sobriety with any tandem treatment. This can be therapy, life skills classes, or substance abuse programs. Success is in understanding why you have certain behaviors and learning to replace them, having access to healthier coping skills, healing from trauma, etc. 12 step programs are really pushed in the US cj system, but their effective rates are very much tied to how long you are in the program.
They do this all the time and I'm sorry you had to find out like this but its important that you shared this so other people will know to keep and maintain their own copies of all medical records at all times when going through the VA. I really hope that you have a smooth process after this. Remember, there are many others who have gone this route who you can reach out to for help because the VA is not really going to. I wish it wasn't like this. I'm so sorry we gave you a broken system.
Check out the original Wickerman. It's phenomenal. Midsomer really peaked those first 5 minutes it was really difficult to maintain that same level for the rest of the film, and so it feels kinda downhill from there.
