Most of the time i hear about gouging it is during the disaster, which is when people should really not be shitheels to one another.
Consider: everyone knows this, but they prioritize human decency over cold capitalistic logic.

The Circle by Dave Eggers is pretty solid. A mediocre movie was just released based on it but you can safely ignore that.
