Can confirm, insanely tiring! Played in high school for 2yrs and stuck to swimming after that. Plus I was terrible, can't throw for crap lol
There seems to be meetup groups in Iowa...not sure how many there are or if the people actually go to them. Can only speak to ones in AZ.
Have you tried Meetup? That's how I found some great friends that I clicked with. There's a good variety of people that go to them.
Try Meetup! I had no idea how to meet people either, especially when you're new to the city. Found some good friends through a meetup group!

What I did - went to good HS, transfer to crap HS senior year & graduate top 3% of class, get full ride scholarship to state college!
