I'm a metrologist. I measure parts for fit and dimensional integrity, using CAD files and computers. Lots of numbers, math, a little geometry, XYZ coordinate system. When hiring internally, this is accurate. If hiring from outside the organization, the resumes are usually looked at pretty good.
They're beautiful. Keep his legacy alive: if you can't use (and clean) them regularly, look up how to protect them for long-term storage.
