I'm liberal. I'm atheist. I played NCAA D1 ice hockey. I'm a psychologist. I love to play devil's advocate and argue.
I didn't discuss morality or philosophy. The logic used here is extremely basic, and I guess I'm not surprised so many people fail to grasp it given the state of the US education system.Once again, everything I've said is obviously and objectively true. If you would like to pick a particular item I've said to argue, feel free, but thus far your attempts have been incoherent and show a poor understanding of language, so I don't expect much.
What a strange comment. He did nothing and he ensured he would never be able to do anything.Your rambling response completely ignores everything I've said, all of which is obviously and objectively true.Downvote if it makes you feel better, but this man's impact on the world is ultimately less than any person who is simply alive and votes.
I'm going to leave the other comments because I stand by them, but I do want to make a small amendment: he actually made LESS of a difference than the "99% of citizens sitting in their homes reading about it". Those citizens are still alive and some percent of them will vote, which, as I've already said, is the primary pathway we have to enact positive change. And since he's not able to vote due to his choice, he actually will make less of an impact than people simply alive and voting.
Yes... that's kinda the entire point I'm making. Instead of living out the rest of his life and actually contributing to the cause, he cut his life short in an attempt to make a statement and ultimately will have no impact on the world due to his incredibly naive, permanent decision.
No, he didn't. That's what I'm saying. He made no difference at all, just like them. In fact, by removing himself from society, he actually *reduced* our voting power, which is our primary path towards positive change. The attention he generated was minimal and temporary, while his death is permanent.
Sorry but this dude is a nobody that did nothing. His public suicide was entirely performative, the type of violent spectacle that wildly hormonal & pubescent teenagers dream about acting out in a short-sighted and asinine attempt to inflict psychological harm on the authority figures they perceive as having wronged them. Except it accomplishes absolutely nothing practical. And now he's dead and can no longer contribute to the cause in any meaningful or lasting way. This man was ill, not a hero.

Yup, so you get jaw cancer instead of lung cancer!
Frankly, this goes the same for strangers on the internet. People on Imgur are not your "friends", they are random people (and sometimes not even people at all) posting or commenting on memes. If the majority of your social interaction comes from Imgur, maybe you should consider quitting Imgur and finding something more constructive to do with that time. "Surfing the internet" is not a hobby.
Is OP just an account that reposts it's responses to garbage on Twatter? I'm blocking this shit, what a fucking loser.
I appreciate that, and honestly I wish you the same, despite my condescension. However, I would reiterate that your understanding of the political landscape is severely lacking and your attempts to demonize the few people that actually have the ability to invoke positive change are a detriment to any possible future where progressive policies are implemented. Also, no disrespect intended toward SoaD or Rage, love the music and love Tom Morello + Serj Tankian, but fuck John Dolmayan.
And just like that, in one comment you proved everything I said correct. Bravo, little guy. Thanks for the laugh. XD
See? This is why I wasn't interested in a discussion. As I said, you're a naive, ignorant joke. This comment is subsequently even dumber than your previous ones. Implying that anyone who has ever worked in or for the federal government loses credibility is one of the most inane things I've ever heard. Your understanding of how the world works goes no further than the lyrics you heard in a System of a Down song one time. Hopefully you pay attention when you take a civics class next year, kiddo.
See, that's how I know you're fucking dumb. You think dumb responses deserve to be deeply analyzed and critiqued. I'm not your teacher, I'm not your parent, I'm a dude laughing at your inability to distinguish between between a person that had the presidency stolen from him, fought hard for environmentalism long before it was mainstream, and dealt with years of disrespect for it, from a billionaire coal lobbyist that couldn't care less if the Earth burned down. You're a naive, ignorant joke, lol
Man, what an even fucking dumber comment, lol.
What a fucking stupid comment, lol.
This isn't even a little true. When Matt and Trey have been wrong, they've owned up to it. First, Kyle has been effectively a progressive since the beginning, and is consistently painted as the smartest of the group. Second, they've been making fun of Trump (as they did Bush, and McCain, and Hillary, and Biden, and tons of other influential political figures, because THAT'S WHAT SATIRE DOES) since the beginning. Third, the inability of the average moron to understand satire is not their problem.
Seriously. Twitter wasn't even good when it was Twitter.
I've moved coast to coast several times already, it's not as big of a deal as it seems. Lots of fun places to live on both coasts!
That accent is an instant turn off.
I mean, I'm very anti AI "art", but using AI to upscale old footage is definitely a valid use case. Nobody is digging up the original reels, if they even exist anymore, and spending time upscaling every movie ever made. Monotonous, repetitive, tiresome, boring work like this is exactly the type of thing we *want* AI to be doing.
First thing that came to mind. Hyenas are a *rough* one, lol.
Jim's Burger Haven in Denver, CO. Gods I miss that place. They serve a 4-inch burger (pretty much normal sized burger - the one on top) and a 6-inch burger (wide smash burger - the one on the bottom). They also have great cheese curds and milkshakes.
Or, alternatively, stop caring so much about the puritanical concept of "swear words".
In this video, the oldest one is 30 years old. Yet, I can't help but see three grandmas.
Incredibly stupid comment. Random attacks occur randomly, NYC is one of the safest cities in the country.
An ID-10-T issue.
You still had a Twitter account? Yikes.
Wrong, lol.
