"9K" is possibly the foundry's size and pattern. The other letter is possibly a casting ID. Expert might have more insight. Nice find!
Gate mark is the line going across bottom. It is from the type of casting process they used to use, which mostly ended around 1880-ish.
Gate mark would suggest circa 1800's. Few foundries used their own marks back then. Looks neat. Hand-me-down or find it somewhere?
My understanding from the other side of the river is nothing about Ontario hydro is cheap these days
