The point is that a militia is necessary, and people should be able to protect themselves from a well-regulated militia.
Why would the founders use MILITIA in the first statement and PEOPLE in the second statement? They mean all people, not just militia.
The amendment was written to allow citizens to protect themselves from a militia or standing army.
I heard it was a Sig MPX, which is a 9mm carbine, similar to an MP5. I guess I was off by a letter...
