NASA selected North American Aviation's Rocketdyne Division in 1960 to develop the high-energy cryogenic J-2 upper stage engine for the Saturn V moon rocket. The J-2, a high-performance, upper stage propulsion system, used liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen propellants for a maximum thrust of 225,000 pounds. It was the first manned booster engine to use liquid hydrogen as a propellant and the first large booster engine designed to be restarted multiple times during a mission. It was used for both the second and third stages of the Saturn V moon rocket. A modified J-2 engine later was used to demonstrate principles that lead to the development of Rocketdyne's Space Shuttle Main Engine. The J-2 featured independently driven pumps for both liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen, a gas generator to supply hot gas to two turbines running in series, pneumatic and electrical control interlocks, altitude restart capability, and a propellant utilization system. The third stage of the Saturn V was steered by a single J-2 engine that could be moved in flight to steer the stage. The second stage had five J-2 engines arranged in a cluster. The four outboard engines were mounted on a universal joint to provide the vehicle with pitch, yaw, and roll control. The center engine was mounted in a fixed position. ~ http://www.boeing.com/boeing/history/bna/j2engine.page

No, by orders of magnitude.

I've had verbal conversations about the chain. My friends and I say "sih-BAR-oh's", the "S" being mostly sibilance.

Genuinely untrue: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digit_ratio Fetal-testosterone-exposure linked, but not remotely "always".

"Little bird, time to fly" "Fly like you mean it" "Fucking fly already" "If you fly so badly you fall out of the sky and die..."

This. "Stop if you are safely able." Red is "Stop." So many blocked intersections on my commute because of people who try to beat yellows...

Not sure, I've seen that in some of the articles that turn up about abnormally large/old ones sometimes, e.g. 15-20lb ones, 40+yrs.

At that size and apparent age, he'd probably be pretty tough. Lobsters aren't good eating after a certain age.

#8 - I walk around a lot. I never got dog-attention until my roommates got a dog and I started to carry his scent on me. It's a thing.

Correction: The TG page was created in 2014. I don't see any references other than TG from before late 2017.

TolkeinGateway has a tiny page about it, but it's not linked from the main Joy Hill page... It feels like a stupid Tumblr joke.

So #22 - is there any evidence for that? I don't see any references online before late 2017, and I can't find a picture of such a letter.

Yep. Stupidly-written law only restricts number of consecutive terms, not total terms.

Eh, Whedon tends to go off the rails after one season. S2+ of SHIELD, S2 of Dollhouse, they just get weird.

Check out "The Shepherd's Tale" canon comic. He's got an interesting and complex backstory.

((please excuse the errant apostrophe in "dog's"))

What do you mean? Dog's can't talk! Surely he just actually barks, he can't be saying it, dogs can't talk. Must've been Foul Ole Ron!

I've seen references in British, Canadian, and Australian media as well, so I think it's exporting a bit. But yes, generally, I think so.

When cake-sharing like this is done, it's expected both parties feed each other. The above is a demonstration of power and disrespect.

Every time I see this, I wish Sir Terry were still alive so I could ask him if he knew about Ea-Nasir when he came up with CMOT.

Nope. It's not even so-bad-it's-good, it's just straight terrible. "I have breast cancer!" "You'll be fine!" "I will, don't worry about it!"

At least, I guess, based on the Thai-flag headband and the alphabet in the screenshot. He may be from a rival movement, the Red Shirts.
