Aww, virtual hug back. I'm making positive moves to go back to independence anyway, a therapist to help get me in the positive again was the best start to it all.

Great idea, but I disagree about the white lie, you shouldn't need to b.s. Just say it was nice meeting your colleagues, sweetie, I am leaving for another gathering. (with me, myself, and I our son at home where I'm comfortable. I, personally, stopped making excuses with my s.o. a long time ago after explaining my discomfort with groups of people I don't know.
