So is it a contactor for a back-up auxiliary motor or just a signal switching relay? I think I have put in some interposing relays like that
What does the “F” coil do? It looks like it pulls in under fault conditions?

I made a huge version of that jig to level a warped table top made out of 2” boards. Looks good!
