I was on a similar tour. Took everything I had to keep my husband from acting out, since it was a company outing with investors. The tour guide disappeared so fast as soon as the tour ended to avoid any conflict. She knew what she was doing.

My cats are ready 45 minutes before feeding. They hunker over their auto feeder at breakfast and lunch. Dinner is Freeform. They are fed by a human. They go berserk for an hour before feeding. I call it the witching hour.
My heart breaks for you. I have a son three years older and equally as smart, interesting, explorative…teaches me so much. I would be less of a person without him in my life. I like your baby steps to recovery. Wishing you the best.
