I've always referred to it as Chinese New Year, but the term Lunar New Year has increased in popularity over the past few years due to its inclusiveness. Interestingly, it seems to be used primarily by non-Asian folks

It is in the company guidelines, but they are speculating that there will be an impact to my performance rather than there actually being any measurable difference in performance.
They knew about it before I was even hired!
They claim I violated company policy for outside employment impairing the ability to do my job, even though I consistently had stellar performance reviews

Sort of... there was a work engagement that I got out, of but then suddenly it was deemed mandatory when they found out I would be attending an event for my side business instead. Even though my time off had already been okayed.
It's pretty niche (custom-designed products) so I don't think the average Imgurian would be interested, but I can't say that I haven't considered this!
