I definitely agree with you! I'm an Engineer who does this for a living, and change management needs to be married with LEAN and 5S when it comes to companies making decisions.
Canadian here, the rule of thumb is:
"Product of Canada" = >98% production in Canada.
"Made in Canada" = 51-97% production in Canada, and ingredients had to undergo a transformation (e.g. tomatoes into ketchup)
"Prepared in Canada" = Imported ingredients, likely packaged in Canada. Check online to see the country of origin for different suppliers ingredients.
