How do I live in the forest like that pleasE?
Now *I* want to save a baby bear from a forest fire.
When the canal was designed, expected traffic was lower but also - much more importantly - rains were dependable so there was no real doubt/concern about whether the lake would refill each rainy season. It's only in the last decade that that's not been the case. That's why the new locks have basins to reuse 60% of the water.
It is the DW supply for Panama City, the national capital of ~1.500.000 people!
