Sounds like a long time. 6 month treatment after an arrest got me started. Getting involved in a recovery fellowship has kept it going. 2/
Agreed. I wanted to quit but absolutely refused to detox myself. In patient is what it took. @OP I suggest a detox + 30-90 day treatment 1/
Wanting help and being willing to accept help are very different. I used heroin for 6 years, clean 18 mos. I lost my friend to it Sunday.
If he knows he needs help, he still may not want to quit. That part only he can decide. NA and a detox were key for me. Keep reaching out.
