Its more surprising to me the people that just couldn't be bothered to vote.

It is probably Walmart or equivalent purchase. I have a half bookshelf I got from there to put books on. Got home cheap particle board. Tried it anyway, filled it up with books, it collapsed few days later on its own.

2024 - OMG it's AI.

Even if it is a photo from 1995 10 year after photoshop was invented. Signed by the photoshop artist. There will be whole thread OMG its AI. It's not real. Like there has been a real untouched photo in any media for the 50 years.

I feel like this is how Teams has become now. You can't even really schedule out of office now and get work done. If your out of office and you have your computer off, then yes your Gray offline. If your out of office but have your computer on, your now Dark purple and of course people know Oh well he is there, of course he won't mind. I have to schedule Lunch and block it off in my calendar, used to show offline. Now wrote powershell that kills teams at lunch time. Starts again hour later.

I mean people could have gone out and voted. While the official data from 2024 is not out yet. 2022 67% Boomers Voted, 59% Gen X Voted, 47% Millennial Voted, 31% Gen Z voted. The House was republican majority yet, 15 House seats were lost by less than 5000 votes. Most in Blue states with early voting and mail in voting. California District 13 lost by 564 votes, 81% of the district didn't vote. 2023 Congress had 724 votes for new laws but passed only 27.

I think you need to look into how much the US pays. In US, Both you and your employer are paying way more than the Canadian Tax for health care. Then you also have a deductible that's out of pocket. In Canada, no deductible, no copay, you need healthcare you just go. Canadian taxes for this roughly 10%, you make 60k you pay about 6k, not 40% I say roughly as it is fairly distributed, you have more dependents you pay more, your single you pay less. You're not paying for someone kids.

I read all your replies and just smiled. Offering sane logical advice especially when it comes to money is not welcome on imgur. LOL what are you going to propose next taking that money for emergencies and putting in a high interest account.

It happens everywhere anymore even in liberal media. This article itself the introduction raises questions on the validity. Not sure I trust this, a lot of sensationalism. So the guy flees in the middle of the night but stops in his "new home" his car, afraid for his life. Waits till morning, but records himself, to then drive 4 hours to freedom. I mean your 4 hours from freedom scared for your life, turn on your recorder start driving talk on your way. Don't stay where you're wanted.

#12 I remember telling users about that way back in the day when they had mouse issues. Also the first thing you checked when the mouse wouldn't work is see how much gunk was in there. However the best one from back then was a guy's mouse wouldn't work, I went over looked at it was like WTF. He told me well you said I had to clean it but the rollers in there I figured they need lube, so I sprayed pam in there to keep it oiled up. True story.

This exactly. Honestly I was 80lbs overweight, so was dad and mom was bigger too. It took some counseling to help loose weight. When I grew up you cleaned your plate, you must clean your plate every meal. If I was hungry or not, as I go older, restaurants and so on put way more food than we need, I never took left overs, clean your plate. That's a very hard one to get over drilled into your head basically since birth. Starving kids in China and all that.

As a big dog owner for decades. You know they could do some damage, even a loving goofball can see an elderly person and run over to them and easily just bump them. This is why you spend time training them not to jump on people, not to pull on the leash, and preferably you start this as a puppy. When they are easier to handle. Most people don't take that amount of time with small dogs.

Think if it like this. In Star Trek the ship is run by AI, monitoring life support, people threats. It can also at a humans request go into the holodeck and create tree, serene walking paths, people to fight against to sharpen a human skills. Should it Or should we sit there and listen to holodeck Artists saying but they took my job. There are still human and alien created holoprograms, but a lot of people are fine with the AI ones.

use his work computer, signed into VPN so had access to everything, decide he needs his Fantasy football scores from some random site, downloads Excel file opens it, it has a virus. AI Caught it, locked his account, machine, kicked off full virus scanning on every network device he was connected to in order to prevent spread. Sent detailed report to me and my boss, in milliseconds. I got to enjoy Christmas instead of fighting viruses.

AI is in use in hospitals, in traffic, making lives better.

Everyone complaining about AI is only complaining about AI and Art. Ai is doing way more and way faster and better. I work in IT, and well humans are idiots. 20 years ago, an idiot opens a email with a subject line that says I Love you. Entire companies, airports shut down most home computers lost all images of families, kids, pets, there was no cloud backup. People are working all night long for days no extra pay. Now, AI True story time. We implore full AI security, Had a Moron Xmas day...

You must be very tall or they duck a lot. I have a lab that goes between my legs. One of favorite zoomies is when I stand there legs spread on the main zoomie path and try to grab the butt as he goes through. Lately he started Jumping as he goes through. So yeah you have to be aware of that.

Yeah but if you follow this battle it has been 4 years going on since Biden got in power. First the republicans in the Senate would not approve the new FCC chair. When she finally got in she reinstated Net Neutrality, the Supreme court shot it down saying it needed to be law though the House and Senate. They found another way to reinstate it and then the ISP's challenged it. This is what this is about. So it was struck down again. Ultimately it needs a law, which will never happen with Trump

This has been going on for the longest time. This is the reason Netflix, Disney etc have all been raising prices recently, Not because they are gouging the customers because ISP's are gouging them. So they are passing on the additional cost to the customer. Funny how republicans don't think increasing Tariffs will not increase prices.
