Yes, that is how academia works. When I review papers I'm not biased, but to assume that others aren't is foolhardy.
Of course and editors make sure it's all there. When I review papers I'm not judgemental but you can't vouch for everyone else.
There's a lot of politics involved. U can be pushed down to lower class journals due to bias. How can you even think peer review is perfect?
Not to be sour, but I've had my findings hit down by reviewers who clearly do not want their work contested for whatever reason.
Are u in industry or academia? As you would know peer reviews are double blinded, but it's not hard to identify some reviewers.
Psst, many research proposals are rejected due to bias. Large grants are usually funded by corporations with interest in certain results.
