Thank you. Hopefully it would sell for more, because the lumber alone was around $900! The maple isn't too expensive, but the black walnut costs $12.95 per board foot. I contemplated using plywood or less expensive veneer, but it just doesn't have the character I was looking for.

With saws sitting on the ground and on tables. Doable, but kind of a pain.

Thanks! It's always hard to pass up free stuff. I actually gave away the 3 old cabinets, so happy they were used and not just thrown away.

Thanks! This place is just around 0.4 acre so it's been easy to do small projects. Can't wait to have a place with 1+ acres to work with!

freeNAS is free. Are you referring to it not being fully open source?

The door is vented slightly, and there's a 120mm fan in the upper right corner pulling air out.

Actually, it came with the server (metservers.com) at about $12/8GB. Used hardware FTW.

It was never my intention to load this up with a ton of hot and power hungry servers. Single R710 is plenty with dual X5690s.

That would be a fun gig if I could sell enough of them.

It's all the same species, with varying widths from 3/4" surfaced to 1.5" thick rough cut. This is from Northern California.

Super impressed with the Ubiquiti stuff so far. Nice hardware and easy to use software.

Probably not for my home setup. But I plan to upgrade the firewall at work and the pfsense hardware is at the top of the list for sure.

This is a magazine lock, for California law compliance. Stupid law, but this is easy to use.

No, I just cut the insulation a bit long and smashed it in there. :)

The inner collar is just pine 1x6 that I screwed together. The outer was nailed and glued from the inside out using 1 1/4" brad nails.

Very cool, where did you get the doors? I'm looking to build one of these over the winter.
