Thus, the significant need for therapy for adults is to hopefully help adapt and create healthy “thrive” thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Okay, I feel better now, thank you for coming to my Therapy Talk. 3/3
We feel emotionally or even physically vulnerable even considering giving up these thoughts, feelings or behaviors. So, from my perspective, children are "resilient" in that their thoughts and feelings have no choice but to "adapt" to survive. Without interventions, as we age and develop, that "resilience" becomes a weight stone around our necks as adults and leads to all the fun consequences of "adaptive" becoming "maladaptive". 2.5/3
They are maladaptive because we are now, hopefully, in non-toxic environments and/or have the adult capacity to feel and understand the stressors, hardships and even trauma we face. However, as our childhood strategies of coping are only meant to help us "survive" they can prevent us from adapting and developing "thrive" strategies as adults. It is very difficult to give up or change these strategies as it is terrifying to even consider giving up something that kept us safe. 2/3
I found my old login just so I could comment because this bothered me so much. As children we develop "adaptive" coping strategies to survive toxic environments, abuse, neglect, trauma, etc. These strategies are the best we can do at that age and in those types of environments to try and feel safe, even if it is an illusion. When these "adaptive" survive strategies follow us into adulthood, which they usually do without intervention, they become "maladaptive". 1/3

(2/2) and using his shoulder and gravity (and the teabag) were the least severe response he could have used. Getting a surprise stab sucks.
For anyone thinking that was harsh she was clearly agressive and approaching to make contact, he was justified in a protective response(1/2)
Excuse me? Who is the giant dude in the wierd helmet? Everyone knows Galactus is an enormous hangry cloud. Pay attention man!
Well the last two were with a russian dictator and a chinese one, why not a robot dictator to mix things up?
That's right, now remember kids if you fall, go head first so your helmet protects you... ;)
My dad had a whistle from growing up on farm. You could hear that for 6 blocks. Everybody knew we couldn't pretend not to hear the call home

Can you see her face? Her eyes and eyebrows were clearly going all in all by themselves.
Only way the cheerleader can win this is to stay ferocious. I have seen little guys take out guys 3 times their size by being honey badgers.
Are you saying that a cowboy hat wouldn't protect the cranium if he were flung at high speeds from the vehicle. Have you ever been to TX?
So to be where he is he had to have passed the physical test. Maybe he went over the wall, maybe through it. Either way, look out.
Keep your alternative facts to yourself. A doctor signed a letter that he was the healthiest, smartest, most handsomest person ever....sigh.
I see so many fun posts of him on here I frequently forget his character on GOT is a monster.
One critical thing you will HAVE to bring though, is your super attractive face/body. Else your date will be with mall security.
Hey now don't say that, everyone loves you for how intelligent you are...wait a minute...
I always feel obligated to downvote the purposeful missus of this. It feels just like people putting themselves down fishing for compliments
I am outraged that when I stood in front of that vehicle moving at high speeds that it hit me! Outraged! I can't even. #outrage #roadkill

In the right parts of the US there would be several pick up trucks waiting to take those folks to construction sites to work. (1/2)
I want to agree but we have all known fans who love their team on the verge of not beyond the level of religious zealotry... :)
Also I just noticed our usernames...also awesome.
That was my subtle mocking of the whole name change debacle. ;)
