My understanding is that there's a spool of fiber optic filiment that the drone carries and it unspools as it flies, thus negating any snags. The filiment is very strong, crazy thin, and immune from emf/radio jamming

A lot of armor in games/movies/tv/fantasy art are based on the visual aspect of how "sandwich" armors like Brigandine, Visby/wisby and other varieties are made. It's not the "Studs" or Rivets that make the armor effective, but that's what's visible.
I can only speak for myself, but when I'm on the hiring side, I look for the folks who are willing to say "I don't know, here's how I would find out".. that and if they ask good questions about the conversation and people they're talking to. Not the stock "I'm interviewing, and this is what i should ask" stuff.
Life is an open book exam... doesn't matter if you remember it off the top of your head or know where to find the answer, as long as you solve the problem in the amount of time you have to do it, who gives a shit how you did it? I'd say that people who always know the answer are worse off because eventually everyone's memory runs out, and then they don't know how to solve their issue because they've never not known what to do.

At the top professional level, there's a "Mixed Pro Open" and a "Female Pro Open", the top players in MPO can throw 500 feet or more, accurately, whereas FPO tend to be merely 350-400 ft max distance... a 20~25% difference in distance completely changes the relative difficulty, on a short layout with more emphasis on accuracy over distance the field would be a lot closer, but the general trend in "elite" course design is longer and longer holes.
