As someone who had a similar childhood, therapy and helping them understand the way they are being treated isn't normal or acceptable is important. I live with abuse for a decade because I didn't know any better. Healthy boundaries and setting them is important, and if you ever get the chance and can, go for custody. If your children decide when they're old enough, most courts will rule in favor of a child's wishes or else the attorneys fees can help stop contention. Heart goes out to you.
