You dont understand. if they are making $1300/yr, a couple days lost wages is significantly more detrimental than blowing their entire savings on a luxury trip. It isnt just $500, its a year of saving every scrap and penny then blowing it at once while simultaneously losing the earnings needed just to make rent. At that income level youre talking another six months to make up the debt, after blowing the savings.
