One way to practice is to hold on to a (more) stationary object (than the fridge) and clip in/out until it become habit. 2/?
She's clipped into the pedals. And probably new to that. Recommended to practice clipping in/out before going out on the road. 1/?

Steering moves the car left/right. To be fair, perhaps I should've been more specific. There's lateral movement without steering input. I suspect you knew that, though, and chose to be snarky anyway. Hope your day gets better.
