I like trains
2/2 nothing without software to run on it. Apple's software is more advanced and thus requires less powerful specs for the same result
Who would win in a race, Lance Armstrong on a bike with only first gear or an average joe on a bike with all its gears? Hardware means 1/2

The entirety of one dessert item should be in focus, so yes it should be larger (bigger depth of field). A 60 mm macro is a good lens
with a fast shutter speed a tripod won't matter, you need to read up on aperture and depth of field

(1/2) You should tighten your aperture a bit for some shots. Your depth of field is too shallow sometimes, you want everything in focus

Even still, that'd be pretty dangerous
The key isn't so much what camera (any decent dslr is good) but what lenses you use and how you set up your shot and camera settings
