I haven't tried that yet, I'll put it next on my list though. Looks fantastic.

Game is Anno 1800. Great game but the Ubisoft launcher can be painful..

I've had multiple employees steal from me. It hurts. They always have excuses, they need it, the company can afford it, etc. I don't have any advice, just offering my sympathy. The world can be cold and unfair. I'm sorry.

And this terrifies me. I was looking into hiring VAs for the dialogue in my game, but after looking around and getting a few "auditions" almost half of them were made with generative models, not humans. If I get tricked into adding a generative model voice into my game and Steam catches me I get banned and lose my source of income.

Because of people doing this I can't confidently hire VAs. But that's OK, I can hire people IRL. Or not at all..

Last place I worked we took turns. Every 2 weeks we changed. We were all SDEs so nobody wanted to wear the manager hat. It worked out. My experience has been that people who want to work and not manage make the best managers.

That scene shocked me a little. Great episode.

These older commercials work way better on me too.

It's important to listen to your customers. It's paramount. Listen to as many as you can. Read every comment you can. And ignore the vast majority of it.

You're welcome! I'll try to remember to send you a dm when the update releases.

Attachment and unlock progress is saved, you can save your campaign run and load it locally, but loading campaign saves online isn't working just yet. I have it in alpha but there's still a few bugs so I need to fix that first.

God I love that game.

As an indiedev I don't need to be as successful as a AAA. If I "only" sell 10k copies a year I'm doing pretty OK. 10k sales wouldn't cover the fully burdened labor cost of 1 developer at a AAA, but for me it pays food, rent, and more.

It really be that way sometimes. I consider my game successful for a 1 person production, and it makes enough money considering it's just me. But so many people immediately rip on it. Ask my why I bother when it'll never be "that" good, that kind of stuff.

That's awesome since it gets all your devices. I did a hosts file for a while, but of course it doesn't help me on my phone. Brave helps there though.

A never ending arms race. Brave was ahead, then google circumvented, then brave circumvented the circumvention! On it goes!

When I was at AWS they used A.I. to filter spam from outside the corporate network. So, they do.

I don't think I could use the internet without some kind of adblock. It's crazy. Every site is full of ads.

That's the problem I ran into. So I had to make my own job, with blackjack...

I think it's OK for indies to self advertise, as long as it isn't too much (and OP is fine here imo). They're competing against big corporations with a massive financial advantage. How else can indie devs with little or no budget get the word out?

If you do that you're unlikely to leave usersub. By waiting for somebody to ask you often get more upvotes. Nature of the beast.

I've had similar with multiple jobs. I would dread falling asleep because it meant the next day would come sooner. I don't wish that on anybody.
