This dog is showing symptoms of obstruction sleep apnea - it’s malformed airways literally don’t allow it to sleep & breathe concurrently.
It is, but if you do a good job in other care, you can avoid a lot of expense when it comes to that.
I mean, minis are useful for some things. But dwarves should not be bred. Not all minis are dwarves though.
It’s really not that expensive to maintain a mini. They are easy keepers, the only really expensive problem is potential vet bills.
Minis are prone to health problems but also most people give them small dog syndrome, and then blame the horse ofc.

No it’s not. Its that a normal pug health baseline is far below that of another dog breed’s. The same actually goes for bulldogs.
There’s 2 kinds of chi : deer head - normal length nose & apple head- brachy nose. Guess which one akc considers standard :^)
No. What it means is in terms of average health. What is considered normal in a pug is really oddly unhealthy in other dogs.
Selective breeding is literally how to fix this problem. It’s also why ddr gsds have almost no hip dysplasia. It’s not the problem.
