It is, as I mentioned, contingent on the US no longer being so fucking stupid. That would pretty obviously include NOT electing shitty people to positions of leadership. Not just saying, but also doing the right things. Sucking up in all the right ways to mitigate the animosity and make up for lost trust. We're all sorta rolling with the punches here, sadly. :| Unfortunately the Democrats here aren't proving to be any better at stopping or fixing anything, so I guess we'll see. Keep pushing us.

I'm not sitting back hoping it will stay this way. My father was Canadian, and half my relatives are obviously Canadian. In my experience, Canadians are smarter than this, generally, and recognize that it's not the general sentiment of the citizenry that is being stupid, but the government and a bunch of idiots supporting that. I agree the US deserves harsh-as-hell treatment in the meantime, but as a half-Canuck, I certainly believe the gap will diminish if the US stops being so fucking stupid.
