They learn to use wide angle spray for defense when close to fire. Spreading the water out lets it steam easier. Dispaces o2, cools the area, and helps keeps the fire away from you.

Its a trap because she was purposely talking quiet to make him to get closer. Then shes back to regular once she caught him. He thought he was making the first move when he asked her out but she had already made it long ago. Dont take it too seriously its just a cutesy comic.
Must be nice. USA the cashier are expected to make small talk and are criticized if not. Then in some stores the baggers are the worst. They bag and then try to help you go out and load into your car. They expect a tip so they can be very pushy even if you decline help.
Where i live, at stores that have the large holding area after the checkout like that, the cashier doesn't bag. Just not part of their job. Customer can do it or a specific bagger employee will run up to do it and even help you to the car, expecting a tip. Sometimes you have to fight the bagger off to deal with your own groceries.

Yeah cities are expensive. But in general Texas living expenses like rent, gas, etc are average or lower compared to other states.
Texas has a pretty low cost of living in general. 15/hr is pretty good baseline here. That said, teachers deserve way more than 17/hr.
A lot of old or budget homes don't have garages. Maybe a covered carport. A lot have a small room with washer, dryer, water heater.
It's a good way to get it out of the way when there's no basement. Until it leaks...
