Adult, male, geek. That about sums it up.

I took it more as in "you need to be careful not to swing to the extreme." If you've spent decades making enemies you can't just expect them to forgive you.

They took hostages. The absolute worst thing they could have done for the Palestinian people. Until 100% of the hostages have been freed Israel can maintain a veil of justification. "Are we not expected to protect and recover our citizens? To stop before their release is to invite further hostages be taken in the future!"

They've had them in the air before. I don't think the world could respond fast enough to stop them if they decided to.

They were united against them before, and tried a few times, always failed. Israel has nukes now so I doubt there'd be a real threat in that form again.

Reduce their number and ability to the point of being powerless to enact anything. If you wipe out enough and scatter the rest to the winds it'll take generations before they can reassemble to a point to fight back, if the will to fight remains at all. Took the Jews 2600ish years and being victims of genocide to get the political power to regain a state. Most groups just assimilate elsewhere instead.

My wife had brain cancer, this is a completely normal feeling. You probably grieved before he died as well. It can be guilt inducing but that doesn't mean it's actually wrong to feel that way

Crown (or state) corporations make a lot of sense in a lot of industries. You don't need to nationalize an industry to have the gov help level the playing field.

Exactly this. She hasn't picked up those powers yet.

Many years ago playing little league baseball, I was a pitcher. Had a solid fastball, but as a kid sometimes still went a little wild. So as it happened time to time, I nailed a batter in the head. He had a helmet so it hurt but he was fine. Goes to the bench to rest different runner takes first. Next batter up send it in hard, batter clips it off the end of the bat sending it towards the bench, ricochets off the post and into the seats right into his head. Again.

That's fair. Appreciate it.

And some of them are beautiful. Can't wait for Notre Dame and Saint Joseph to get historical museum treatment.

If I can ask, why only those 2 days? Why not like, one a month or something?

"Were not at war cap" "They are"

Which doesn't mean race is a social construct, it means the constructs we've built around race are fucked and need to be torn down.

Corporations love it, so consumers get stuck with it.

It's not though - they took power in the elections in 05 and have functioned as dictators since. Claiming they're elected by the current population- half of whom weren't even born in 05, would be.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sure, so we can call them dictators, but that would still make them the Palestinian government for Gaza, which was the only point I was making.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

You mean like the Kurds?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Hamas controls Gaza as the result of being elected, so conflating Hamas with the Palestinian people is wrong, but has at least some validity when speaking of a Palestinian government.

Both those things can be true. Bibi is also an evil bastard.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Sure, and Palestinians also, and frequently more so, reffered to the Jewish population of Palestine until until the 60s. It's changed.

Covering a story can be in a multitude of formats, Live being one. Your adding the implication. Live reporting is also a term used. I have at no point disagreed with the bias, just that the original posts would not indicate this.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Agreed, but that's not what the posts presented by OP says. It says coverage. Doesn't mention live broadcasts. I didn't know they'd broadcast either day, so with the incomplete information provided, it appears inaccurate. Technically is as day 1 was covered, even with a bias.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Most of us didn't see the live stream on day 2 either, so if they're talking about that specific aspect of the coverage, maybe they indicate that so we know what they're calling out? As it stands I can see reporting on both days, so the post appears incorrect

Location - west friendly nation in the middle east.
Nukes - they have them, we don't want them to use them. They've put bombs in the air before when they thought there was a chemical attack but were called back when it was confirmed conventional only. They are willing to use them.
History- Older generations are still on the "Jews are persecuted everywhere so it makes sense they have to fight for their homes to the end." Which, not entirely wrong, but not up to date either.

55-70ish? After the first war but before the 73 war.

And if they simply stop (and I agree, they need to stop) they will be attacked again. So how do you as the Israeli government tell your people you're accepting they will die? What this needs is OTHER nations involved, putting boots on the ground, to build Palestine without allowing groups like Hamas to have control. When Israel pulled out of Gaza in 2005 and Hammas took control, it ensured no peace would follow.

Israeli authorities, particularly Likud at the moment, definitely seem to be running the same all of nothing mentality.
