It's amazing the time you have to devote to thinking when you don't have to worry about survival. Likewise, Anti-intellectualism has certainly become much more prominent recently.

What I always find funny about the "strong eat the weak" types is by anthropological record humanity only thrived through social cohesion and cooperation. They tout their lack of ethics as commonplace because otherwise they would have to admit that their failings are not the norm, and that's not a flattering look.

I guess it depends on how you look at it. While a bit crass, they probably mean sometimes people pass earlier than they should, and there's no rhyme or reason to it. All we can do is try to keep going and be a little kinder to the people we have left. I lost my older sister to a car accident on January 22nd, and that's my interpretation I suppose.
