Winterturtle

I’ve coped too hard over the last few years but I’ve finally come around to it. I kept thinking, no way Covid will stick around. And then I thought, no way Trump will be elected again. And you know what? I’m tired of being wrong. I am genuinely worried about this now.

This source corroborates, the species can definitely fly.

Phoenix chickens can fly at least a bit. I’ve seen them fly up and out of a large enclosure.

Yup. If they aren’t butchered in time they can die under their own weight.

Meat chickens are really sad creatures. By the time they are butchering age they are too big to comfortably be able to walk, and they grow so fast their feathers can’t keep up and they are half bald. It’s a mercy killing really. Not saying that’s necessarily a bad thing but also don’t feel too bad for eating chicken because the animal that it came from is not what you imagine when you think about chickens.

It’s also used in environments where you need to weld in an inert gas and nitrogen won’t do the trick

Collagen makes sense since it is so extremely stable, but you’d be hard pressed to isolate almost any other organic molecules.

As a member of lhis part of the union they are talking about, most members are still going to vote for Trump even with the endorsement.

Wait, you guys don’t have this happen to you still?

This. 1 million percent. Thank you for saying it, and good use of the meme.

An Osteopath in addition is what I would recommend. They can be hard to get appointments with, and are usually quite a bit more expensive than a decent chiropractor for what would be essentially comparable treatment in the short term. But osteopaths are likely to be the only effective long term treatments.
It’s fine to get the cheaper guy to pop your bones to feel a bit better, but you need a doctor to make you BE better.

It doesn’t. Since rent isn’t actually astronomically high EVERYWHERE, just a few hot spots that push the average up a lot (look at the median rent price instead of the mean) it just means that some people are being priced out of their homes. Which really sucks.

Two silly horsies, one very smooth brain between them. That’s how they work.

The ability to adapt to novel situations in a way that they could articulate the reasoning behind that would sound plausible to someone we already accept as intelligent. The reason LLMs fail this test is that they are a black box model so they would be unable to actually articulate the reasoning behind a decision accurately.

It doesn’t know what it isn’t allowed or not allowed to do, that would require understanding. It is programmed in a way that it will try to respond to certain predefined prompts in specific ways and that’s it.

Or more realistically and depressingly it was trained on literature that contained inherent human biases such as racism, sexism, classism etc, and thus will mimic those same problems which are causing problems in society.

We didn’t teach them anything as you can’t teach an AI because an AI doesn’t really learn in the traditional sense. It was programmed to produce a string of letters which could be interpreted as denying it had access to information which it may or may not have been able to access.

Probably not attempted murder, it doesn’t seem like it was out of malice but certainly criminal negligence (dangerous stupidity) since it could have easily resulted in homicide. The other cops probably should have known better and should face disciplinary action but they were just backing up a fellow officer who could have easily been in actual danger so I wouldn’t expect them to face criminal prosecution.

Yeah peacocks are pretty much just turkeys dressed up for a rave

Pretty much! Maybe instead of saying ‘lape’ you say something between ‘luhp’ and ‘lurp’ with the rounded ‘ooo’ lips. But yeah pretty much

It being. So chemically inert is both its best selling point and its biggest downside. On one hand, it will resist extremely powerful acids. On the other hand, it will resist every attempt to decompose it in just about every other way too.

Poly tetra fluoro ethylene! Teflon! Extremely chemically inert. Just about the only thing that can hold certain acids. Just DONT BURN IT. Or throw it away honestly. That stuff will never degrade. So uhh yeah probably best not to be making this very clearly meant to be disposable tape.

This is true. Pretty much what I do. Just get the form from my employer, enter the numbers, get the money back that was over payed. Pretty straightforward.

But those stars in the painting weren’t drawn that way at all, rather 5 separate strokes
