I moved for the 12th time in 2022 and while unpacking I found a time capsule in a Mudd shoe box I had packed the first time I moved around 2003 (I was still in high school). Get this to the front page and I will open the box and share on imgur what's inside.

My coworker bought a fuel pump that they installed and found it was faulty. They called to exchange for another one and told them they werent able to get all of the gasoline out of the pump. They asked them to mail it back anyway. I made them call back and question how safe it is for all parties that they put gasoline in the mail. They took 2 seconds to reconsider and ask them not to mail it.

In this case the effect of the liner becoming disbonded and ejected would only shorten the cycles that part can perform for. It would not cause the loss of the space craft. There is a lot of factors taken into account when complex flying objects are made. Some parts require solid, well made, homogenous materials. It would be ok to 3D print a panel but not a piece of an engine because engine parts experience additional forces the material needs to withstand.

Some things can be made via additive manufacturing. In this case this is not considered major rotating and it appears only the liner inside that pipe was made using the technology simply for more stress and strain in high temperature coefficents that will extend the life of the part. The actual pressure containing material is not AM. Structural components or parts that are low stress/low pressure/not critical to flight safety can and are made from materials such as composites and AM parts.

Yes it would be any annealing, heat treating processes, and/or inspection of the material for voids, inclusions, or other defects that can propagate & cause the part to fail. The fact that "bolt" has teeth tells me its a critical rotating part subject to high stress loads. Even in industry we do not 3D print critical rotating parts as the layers quickly cause failures. They don't even make them out of composite material. Zooming in this doesnt even look like a high quality print. 100% it failed.

This jerk behind the counter looks past my brother who was standing infront of me to ask what I needed. I gestured to my brother and he said that they didn't serve his kind here. Both of us were so confused. What? You don't serve Italians here?? Guy was shocked to learn that was my brother and Italians do also come in shades of brown. My brother is constantly accused of being Mexican and I would have to go places with him so ppl would be nice to him. It's so stupid.

The racists are dumb like this and think it's funny. Trust me. I grew up in the north where there was very little. I wasnt exposed until well into my 20's when I moved south. These ppl are shallow. My family is mostly Italian which includes ancestors from Tuscaney and Sicily. The genes played out that i got no melanin and my brother has all the melanin. We went to a auto shop cuz my car broke. Brother came with to order and make sure I got the right thing. >

#39 it wasn't coca cola's famous mascot it was polar soda's. Polar had been using the mascot since the founding in the 1800s. Coca cola stole it from polar & paid people to pop the inflated polar bear ontop of the Worcester, MA factory while ongoing arguments over coca cola's use of the polar bear as a mascot were ongoing. There was a court case which coca colas parent company lost. This was actually the reason they stopped using it, not environmentalist backlash. It was a big deal in MA.

My cats know this will get them cuddled like a teddy bear against their will and I wont let them get back up until I fall asleep. If they want to get the claws out they will be burrito'd in my blanket and then cuddled. Now they only come in my bed at night to sleep and they leave me alone. It has worked on all 8 cats I've owned.

Well that is a good thing. Less ice agents causing terror and more handing out donuts and hot cocoa. I'd call that a win. Imagine being ordered to terrorize people and supress protest then getting pulled off that to go hand out donuts to the same ppl you terrorized and are currently protesting you.

Based on what I have seen time must have forgotten who you were, why you were buried or that you were buried at all. When your name weathers away from stone and stone turns to sand. When someone stumbles upon you and wonders who are you? When someone has a desire to discover and share your story based on what remains and items once held close to another's heart.

Even local reelections aren't going well for the GOP. My state is blue but I live in a rural red area that has been red for 20+ years. Every seat that was up last November, including the board of selectmen seats, flipped to blue. Hoping this Nov will be no different. Local elections are just as important.

To put the combo in correctly. Took me several tries to get it to open. Finally heard a clunk and the handle turned. Opened the door to find some unused paper shooting targets and a plain old leather belt. One of the most disappointing moments of my life.

I bought a house and lived there for half a year before discovering a wall moved when I bumped it during a renovation. Turns out the wall opens and there is a hidden room with a giant locked safe in it. Seller either didnt know it was there since the prior owner passed away or just didnt tell me about it. I was so antsy to open the safe to see what secrets it contained. A search of the room yielded the combo to the safe. Felt like I was in an escape room. Had to watch some YT vids >

But ask me how to spell stuff, the capital of any state, phase of the moon or constellation and I could name any of it or describe the position of the stars in any constellation. I loved that shit. I don't think I could do it now though.

Elementary school was a crazy time for me. I was both in special ed and in advanced reading. I was the only one who could read to the kindergarteners and 1st graders yet was in special Ed cuz I couldn't read, had a speech impediment, and dyslexia. My dyslexic @$$ could only read books upside down in 3rd grade. The teachers struggled with me trying to force me to hold the book upright but I couldn't read that way. I had to relearn to read right side up.

Not the worst name there. One boy is named Seven. I thought that was a misspelling or some misunderstanding with the kids but nope...parents call him 7

I do have to credit them. Some people's reactions are hilarious. My kid found the numbers 6-7 on a sticker sheet, cut it out, & stuck it to adults & older kids at Thanksgiving. That little sticker ended up on everyone at some point but no one was as mad about it as the teenagers. Them yelling about how it wasn't funny & throwing an absolute fit about it made everyone laugh. Needless to say the sticker kept reappearing on the teenagers all day. A fit was had each time with the littles giggling.

No really my kid says its because 6 is before 7 and my older nephew says it came about as a result of a video of a kid screaming "six seven". It was just a reference to that video which they found funny but people started trying to find some meaning in it and became upset when they couldn't which became the joke. The more ppl got upset the more they say it. If you are upset about 67 you are part of the joke. They have rage baited an entire generation.

The reaction of my 7-year-old was worth it tho! She watched him paint and went "Oh yeah! Perfect painting!" Then he paints over it and whispers the most disappointed "awwww..."
