I'm just trying to person.

I don't know how to articulate that the mirror seemed insignificant in all the other non recycled materials and skills going into this. Very cool a lot of skill bravo, beautiful, I love it, honest, but this is a one off droplet in a sea of trash needing to be recycled.

Unpopular opinion but this is just rage bait. the whole premise seems focuas on finding churches who would deny charity to promote a particular message. I am totally on the side of let's chose compassion and generosity to those in need but also I want unbiased media.

I'm so tired of seeing "He did the thing he is not allowed to do!" and then no one does anything to stop him. it's not illegal is no one enforces the law.

It's been the dream sold to the people since Agriculture was invented. Since the first rudementary forms of food preservation had been invented. "If you work hard now you won't have to work later". It's sold to the comman man and then everytime we buy into it the product is taken from us and put under lock and key and controlled by the people in charge. Same thing here. Make a way of not needing to work but really it's making a thing that removes your leverage and having it taken away.

I love that, I love the beards on americanas! Also there eggs... Which I guess is a huge giveaway of whose they are. Is the Rooster a Plymouth barred? My Plymouth barred Hen has much darker feathers over all.

Unfortunately I think this is more correlation than causation. I think the real kicker to this is if you are more educated you are more likely to be atheist. That's the causation of all those benefits.

I would add tuna confit, sliced radish (adds crunch and spiciness) and some sort of acidic dressing, lemon vinaigrette or balsamic. Not a l lot just enough to brighten the flavors.

there's a whole ecosystem being disrupted by light pollution and you decide to just kill them all for fun. none of those bugs were going to eat you.

This is how I feel about coding an elegant solution to a corner case. I feel super good about achieving a solution to such a difficult problem and doing it so well but it's a detail that will go largely unnoticed (as it should since that's the point). Also as an amature wood worker doing any sort of fitting like that is insanely difficult so you should feel really proud.

We are constantly being encouraged by our phones to be immersed in the profane. To give likes and to thumbs up or down things. Balck and white, immediately judgements, Hate or live. The sacred is to persue an experience of awe. Things like taking a walk through a park and to observe everything that is happening in that park. The birds the trees the people the connections happening and people coming and going. To have traditions and be part of communities and to engage with others.

there is a pattern/recurring theme I have been noticing in social critiques or our modern society and I think it has a lot fo truth to it. I hate using this word becuase of all the stigma it comes with but we lack spirituality. I say this as an atheist. Spirituality is not reiligion, it is just a thing that most religions include. It is the distinction from what is sacred and what is profane. The profane being the physical immediate world and the Sacred being the higher concepts. 2/3

Both bsenftner and LittleDirtyBirdyfeet have good highlights. There's of course no simple solution to the issue and to even what is causing the issue being discussed. We might be discussing a symptom for all we know. I want to emphasize I think it's important to not get caught up in who is right or wrong and to focus on what's illuminating and to focus on some things we can do to help ourselves and our community to be better. 1/2

The irony and is this a Social media site... Not the worst offender but like yeah it's bad. to quote an article "In what Tristan Harris calls a “race to the bottom of the brain stem,” media companies and advertisers will do almost anything to keep your eyes locked where they want them." It's the prisoner's dilemma without consequences to the action it;s an arms race to get your attention by any means possible to generate income and if they don't do it someone else will.

I'd recommend you listen ot read the Anxious Generation. Towards the end of the book it talks about the general effects social media has on the population on being that of encouraging and rewarding the brains inate ability to create quick judgements on all who are around us. This creates a much "meaner" culture. Our inability / atrophied abilities to slow down our judgements and enact forgiveness is heating up our society on an emotional level. It's also hingering our ability to reason.

Since famous people seem to be elected to leadership positions I no longer think current (in)famous people are famous for noteworthy reasons. A quick skim of who is famous today, for me, validates my opinion

Think about it, the women who may secretly vote democrat are the ones being oppressed by their maga partners. If they can’t vote it will ensure red states look even redder.

Famous people who are famous for being famous doing normal activities with famous other famous people who have no reason to be famous except for being famous...

Not going to happen unless we do that to them. It's that simple. the Law is not under our control or in our hands. The Law is supposed to the enforced by the literal man in that picture breaking the law in front of us. So unless we enforce the law none of them will have to deal with consequences.
