There's people with basic instincts, and people below them with "baser instincts."

Woman suffered serious enough injury to be airlifted to a better equipped hospital in Tenerife. Details not publicized, nor any conviction on file.

I dislike this quote, but I can't think of any other better idiom for this: "you can't see the forest for the trees."

I moved to OK for a year and have been in TX for years. What's racist to others is normal to them. I'm Asian and the COVID-19-related discrimination was quite blatant, and others who witness it don't think it's a big deal. I was suggested to just develop "tough skin" and not feel any guilt for whatever I might be blamed/called out for.

They're not moral. They're sanctimonious.

It's the equivalent of a pseudo-intellectual trying to point out others' stupidity to make it look like they're not one of the stupid ones, as opposed to one who admits they know little and uses that fact to inspire them to be better. The true moralists admit they're sinners and are inspired to do better.

Not to be confused with the American Red Cross. I actually see their sites in forward locations near warzones helping with people's well-being. Their paid staff are often connecting people back at home with people near war zones, and contacting businesses like Hoist (vet-owned hydration co) to collect promo freebies to distribute to service members. Their presence is dwarf by the USO though, for mil morale stuff.

Thought that was Hilary Clinton for a min.

So this mostly affects women and woke people who have crossed Trump?

They fantasize of using money to control people and be treated like royalty, all while delivering just spite to those who crossed them. It's what we call "having f**k you money."

These people struggle to relate to their kids, they're so egocentric, even after years of molding them after themselves.

Entertainment industry. Fiction is their bread and butter. Even non-fiction like autobiographies would be a lot smaller.

There's a saying that fiction contains a smidge of truth. It's often literally that... just the tiniest bit. Actors are basically being paid to make convincing counterfeits (AKA frauds). It's just become normalized.

Personally, I'd just set up all sorts of obstacles to train someone like that up, with reasonable progression in difficulty and minimal consequence for failing. Getting them exposed to all sorts of scenarios reduces the stress one would usually face on first-time encounters.

Too much micromanagement and laying on stress, IMO.

Just need to form an idea, preferably a vision of an outcome, in their head that they can believe in. Preferably a realistic one, so they don't end up with trust issues.

I thought this too, but I guess some others might think a person of integrity/honesty had a righteous reason, such as doing society a service by murdering that specific guy.

In this military ex, individual units have the freedom to be run according to the command team's preferences. They enact curfews, formations, inspections, and whatnot on their schedule as tools to keep soldiers from becoming undisciplined. They assign extra duty to individuals and strip individuals of rank. They have individuals pick up extra responsibilities, like managing dwellings of jr enlisted, be a contact for sexual harassment, equal opportunity, etc.

Like middle management w/admin acct

That's not untrue, but it's allowed as long as it fits under congressional law's umbrella. Think of it like in the military, where it's the front-line commanders giving *orders* that fall under all the regulations. The leadership needs to read these laws and execute accordingly. The judicial branch would be the UCMJ side.

Say there is a question of fraternization. Leaders in a unit would consult AR 600-20, and if they deem it to be a case, they can send it to be punished under UCMJ Article 92.

Easy to imagine a corrupt ref that doesn't call shit out...

Certain types of people like to watch the plays that shotcallers and playmakers craft. A lot of parallels to sports fans and their speculative predictions.

I get the impression that Imgur people might be the type to watch the fans, to see their reactions and understand the dynamics of culture. They prob don't know the rules of the game that well beyond progression, but at least have a sense of fairness/sportsmanship plus a-hole radars

The theme I've seen here is they're seemingly more interested in checks and balances, concerned about corrupt use of power/position.

If you wanna school folks, gotta mention things like how things like the EPA, Dept of Education, Dept of Energy, etc. are part of the executive branch. They make the rules to carry out the relatively broad laws that Congress writes.

Judiciary branch acts as a check on power (referee), congress is like the league's org, and exec are like the participating teams.

Sadly, it seems that it counted as having a "booby trap", which has some laws discouraging its use.

I saw a U-lock that had liquid ass impregnated into one of the layers outside the steel shackle. If someone cut into it, they'd make everyone in a large radius beware.

Oh, I was implying sight and hearing is likely to be degraded as we age. I expected younger people developing this tech didn't suffer from such yet, at least to this degree. Feels like I'm living the cartoon gags where some old guy needs things repeated/cleared up for them yet still gets it wrong XD

My complaint: my phone isn't bright enough nor loud enough to be used outdoors, over sunlight with wind and traffic noise. Was trying to use it for navigation on my bicycle.

I love how he exaggeratedly spreads and shakes his whole body to give it that extra menacing oomph

You definitely feel more willing to face challenges/risks with PPE on, which is 1 big reason why many people justify buying it. Another reason is that people simply expect crashes--it's not a matter of if you crash, but a matter of when.

IME, stupidity tends to come from showing off for others, including for whoever might see your GoPro footage. Someone inevitably dons their imaginary cape and lets all the heroic stunt stuff they see on the big screen influence them (define: recreation).

High-end materials and precision manufacturing to make it have minimal drag and weight.

Sample build:
TiLite CR1 Carbon Fiber Ultra-Light Wheelchair 7k
Spinergy TiLite Carbon Fiber Wheels 1.5k

Ironically, what commonly happens is that riders conquer insane trails like this, which then causes them to be extremely overconfident on easier stuff, even if they've ridden it dozens of times before, which leads to some of the worst injuries.

It's a matter of having your guard up, I guess.
