Residential guideline for step height is 8 inches. Commercial is 7 inches. (plus or minus a minor tolerance amount) (depth is 10 inches residential, 11 inches commercial)

I think the buffer period is there to allow you a few minutes to reconsider the transfer and cancel it before it is gone for good.

I installed 3 hot tubs on a family's large property (main house was the parents, 3 other houses on the property were the sons), at the time they were having a 9 hole golf course "installed" on their property so that business contacts could come over to discuss business while playing 9 holes.

A friend was occasionally slipping on his oak stairs at the front of his house. We sanded them down, re-did the varethane finish, and on the final coat sprinkled some silica sand. No one has slipped on the stairs since then! (my local independent paint store carries fine silica sand in a salt shaker type container for this particular application)

Let's not forget tax advantages that were originally put in place for the likes of contractors etc (6,000+ pound vehicles) to be able to claim their vehicle as a work expense, then realtors etc figured of if they drive a Canyonero they can write it off.

Desert sand is generally not suitable for use in cement etc, as it is not angular enough. The shape of the grains allows them to lock together. The best sand for construction is often found near the mouths of rivers, as it has only just been turned into sand from rocks eroding upstream.

You will notice that it's only the first two "train cars" that accept cars being loaded. The first one has the ramp to the upper deck, cars travel all the way to the end. The second door loads cars going on the lower level, and the same thing, you drive all the way to the end. Before departure the doors between the "train cars" close to create the sections. Once at destination, there are 2 "train cars" at the other end that you drive off going forward in a similar fashion to loading.

There is a book called "The Harlot By The Side Of The Road" that goes through and shows many many instances in the Bible where passages were suppressed or mis-translated. Knowing the original text and how translations were affected by cultural norms at the time of translation can skew how many topics are viewed.

[looking around curiously] I think it's getting warmer in here.

[looking guilty] I didn't notice anything.

Similar in Ontario when your drive up to Nippissing. Provincial highway nice and smooth, once you pass into the city, roads all potholes, lane markings worn off, enough of a change to wake up the passengers at the end of the 4 hour drive.

I'm always surprised when the chaser tackles the fleeing suspect (in the purple pants). It would be more effective just to give them a shove, they lose balance and hit the floor, and no need to be rolling around and possibly lose control of the situation.
