There are some solid covers you could use, but I'd argue the only really memorable one is the very first issue. This movie was my first exposure to the TMNT tho, so it's my gold standard haha
Mutant Mayhem was pretty solid. That makes 2 at least lol

And I agree. My initial response was just that there was no way they were going to fit everything into 1 movie. I saw the movie before I had actually understood the comic and enjoyed it for what it was, but its an incredibly flawed adaptation in hindsight. Not helped by an Ayn Rand fan (The ideological antithesis of the author) adapting/directing the work.
Absolutely, they really sanitized him and it actively fucks up the story. Same with the stylized action scenes. But had the rest been intact, the message would have still shown through, imo.
The little bit of devil's advocate I'll play here, is the story in the comic is too long for a single film to contain, but that also just shows it should never have been 1 movie

Honestly, I dont even know anyone who's seen more than the first one. Even then, they can't name any characters.

I find it works best if you treat him more like a slasher. A sort of Jason Voorhees but for criminals. Like the initial run of Punisher max
