And the rapist, who got killed by an angry mob is dead now - so let bygones be bygones! Why should we care what happened in the past? Someone should check his computer...

#3 I saw this in the Munch museum in Oslo - what this photo doesn't show is that the picture is the size of a badminton court.

It's fascinating, because I find it quite hard to get good coffee (to make at home) in Norway whenever I'm there. Had the worst coffee of my life on the ferry from denmark to Norway. The taccos are amazing though :-)

I (from Europe) once had a job in Ohio, where I had to drive through the state with other people to test the usability of car interfaces. As prep, I drove the defined route with a colleague from Columbus. When I pulled over into a driveway (somewhere rural) to discuss something, he told me "can't park here, we might get shot at" - that felt pretty Floridian to me - that and all the cars on the motorway only being held together by duct tape...

Black and lime was my favourite when it came out in the late 80s / early 90s - still love the aesthetics, so thank you for showing your awesome build!

I don't remember which national park in the US this was: they tried to bear-proof their trash cans, and a ranger was interviewed about them. He said something like this "We underestimated how significant the overlap is between the smartest bears and the dumbest people". Some bears figured out how to open the cans, while some people didn't...

I still don't get how Hamas holding hostages has anything to do with letting children starve. They are not the ones holding hostages. They are collateral damage. And even if you want to argue that this is meant to put pressure on Hamas, it clearly isn't working.

#2 These charts pop up all the time - Unfortunately, people claiming you could replace Photoshop with Gimp or any of the other solutions are wrong (IMO). It's like replacing a Formula 1 racer with a tricycle. It would be great to have an alternative to the Adobe bloodsucker line of products, but every time I tried switching, I found crucial features were missing.

I ask my family from Norway to bring me a bottle or two every time they come here. This stuff is just great - cider with hop. Not too sweet just a little bit bitter - and they don't export to outside of Norway...

Why keep people repeating this false fact? This is the reality: He had a Democratic House for 2 years and a Democratic Senate for 6 years, with 178 days where he had a filibuster-proof majority during his first two years.
In the November 2008 elections, the House was set at 257 Democrats, 178 Republicans. There were a few changes, but the House was Democratic by a good margin for the first 2 years.

Me and my family found out my step-brother had led a double life when big cars with golden rims turned up to his funeral and there were wardrobe sized men standing on the edges of the graveyard with little headphones in their ears. That was wild. Can confirm it's not really fun if it's reality. My step-brother's murderer was among the guests. Turned out, my SB had earned most of his money as a partner in a group of smugglers and thieves. I honestly had no idea until that day...

That looks delicious - thank you for sharing. However, as a German, I find it funny that the recipe asks for generic "sausages" - do you only have one kind of sausage? ;-)

Yep, that would have been impressive... Still totally wrong, but impressive nonetheless.

Murc's law is about blaming democrats for everything - however, this comment did not do that. It only asked why we are not seeing more of them. It's legit to ask why politicians are not fighting back. At least I don't see Chuck Schumer organising resistance. You can't yell Murc's law anytime someone criticizes the democrats - you should be able to expect your politicians to actively fight for you, which apparently they are not doing as much as people would like to see.

They are considering rolling over and playing dead (https://www.thedailybeast.com/james-carville-says-the-democrats-should-play-dead-to-beat-trump/). In any other Western country, in this situation, the opposition would mobilize the people, but the democratic leadership sits on their hands.

#1 did anybody else first think that this was a picture of a person with a wide-rimmed hat in a checkered shirt getting gently drowned?

This looks really awesome ๐Ÿ‘ (But I would add burning dumpsters for more realism ;-)

Got bitten in the hand by a spider while I lived in Brisbane (it sat under the car's door handle, stupid me), hand LITERALLY swollen up to the size of a baseball glove, went to the doctor, doc said: "well, if you are not dead by now it's probably nothing serious"...

Dems have been in power for many years - often with control over all legislative bodies. How do you explain that the US does not have universal healthcare? GOP are fascists, but that doesn't make the Dems great. It's so sad to see how many people still seem to buy the story of "they really wanted change but golly gee, they somehow could not manage to get it" - it's much more realistic that they either did not really want change or were incompetent - anything else is just propaganda.

She turned right at that exact point in her campaign (and started praising Dick Cheney) in a bid to win over Republican voters - which polls show only got her 5% of the Rebublican voters and turned away many working class voters. I'm not making excuses for people who did not vote or voted Trump - but blaming this disaster only on sexism/racism/stupidity might potentially not be enough.

Sorry, you are right. I just read the argument about Latino and black men a lot before - but you did not bring it up. But besides that - do you think that these groups got more sexist since Hillary?

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Clinton won Latino men by 31 % points, Hillary Clinton won 81% with black voters. Honest question: Did they become more sexist since? Argentina, Brazil, Nicaragua, Honduras and Mexico have female presidents - so I don't think the critique of especially Latino men that they were driven by sexism does really hold up?

I completely agree. It would also have taken a talking point from the GOP.

Dems under Biden had control of Congress for nearly two years - they could have done so much, but opted for incremental change instead. Now in the US there is ONE medication for which the price can be negotiated - in other countries it's thousands. That's not difficult to change - they were just lacking the motivation.

I would like to add: It was a bi-partisan proposal that the Dems wanted to get through congress that was then blocked by the Republicans, as they did not want to give "Biden" that win. It looks like that was a good tactic for them.

27 developed countries hold elections on weekends, mostly Sunday, some on Saturday.
2 developed countries hold elections on weekdays but they are declared national holidays.
7 developed countries hold elections on regular weekdays BUT the US and UK are the only two that do not provide guaranteed time off to vote.
Dems had the control of congress for two years under Biden - so they could have changed this, but didn't do it.

Thank you for saying this - I got mauled in the comments for mentioning that "they are all stupid, sexist and racist" might not be the only explanation.

Let's not forget that she was gushing over f-ing Dick Cheney (who had a popularity rating of 13% when he left office) and had events with Liz Cheney, whose only redeeming quality is that the did not support Trump.
