Software Engineer (java/php for the nerds in the audience), overly friendly person, friend of snek, cybersecurity enthusiast, gamer, and generally sarcastic lady.
Resounding yes from me. Shorter hours and more realistic deadlines. Make indie games on the side.
Same. I just don't like the traffic. The people are smart and the work is actually pretty engaging.
You should. It's glorious.
I had a neckbeard sit next to me in the theatre. Dude was scarier than the movie and talked the entire time.
Yeah, as a woman in tech, I see this a lot. It's ~85% male, but most of the dudes are hella strange.
Compare/contrast neo nazis with rescuers. It's a fucking stretch to say either are representative of your average American.
Awwww. :(
Does he do... science? Asking for a friend.
I'm feeling the same way, man. This seems statistically off.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Varanus_salvadorii - I get my names mixed up.
Bigger as in bulkier, to be clear. Like burmese python (the snake he had) is the longest snake, but anacondas are the biggest by volume.
I'm pretty sure that's an alligator monitor. Komodo dragons are much bigger and far less pretty.
This has been my method of trying to find dates for years. Just write a klingon insult on the wall and see if anyone is offended. Alas.
No, no, no. Lunch just walked up to him. I'm happy when that happens to me, too.
I can almost hear the snoring... >_>
Yep, but it's the polite thing to do. Well-socialized dogs usually do it, but the ruffians are like "Omg, let me just bowl you over".
Yeah, people helping "ironically" are also shit.
ok, I gotcha. It's a difficult field, and super underpaid. Most of the people I know just went into dev and then do game dev as a hobby.
I'm a dev, and I break rules, so probably true.
Accredited CS degrees don't include game design/coding though... Was it an actual game design degree?
Keep it up. Programmers are generally just really sarcastic people. It comes with the territory. Snark back and assert dominance.
It's hella janky sometimes. And people write shit code with hella janky languages.
Damn son. You're getting fucked. I'm about to start at that rate in the rural Midwest as a dev. :/
Social overachievers/extroverts will do both.
I tank too, and damn I avoid dungeoning like the plague. I'm always afraid someone will want to talk or be "helpful". >_>
Good luck, though. That's a hard degree to get good grades in.
Oh. I've heard about that job market. I got a related job while in school & honestly have only had people interested in my work experience.
It's fine. Just don't let anyone find the bodies and you'll be fine.
They generally tell us the same thing ("Oh, you'll have no trouble finding a job"), but I didn't believe the people who said that.
