It never will escape the tungsten sphere, though. I mean, come on, immortality and intelligence aside, it's a snail.

I love learning :). Did you?

"may be". It doesn't have to be unconnected. That's not a defining factor. The example with Trump in your source suits my argument, too.

"...however unconnected the offenses may be."

"[...] arguing that an opponent is guilty of an offense just as egregious or worse than what the original party was accused of doing,"

Only it's not. The term was coined by Soviet propaganda, which often referred to identical or very similar misbehavior of other states.

In most of Europe, you are required to have and sometimes even to always carry your ID.

... to not assume the availability of a frontal lobe?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It is, though. Everyone else cheating doesn't morally justify that you are cheating even better.

Nice whataboutism.

Yipp, this tweet lacks a ton of sources.

... and they are so much more practical. Another factor for their downfall is no muddy roads you have to protect your clothing from.

Yes, but the front always hits the cutting board a couple of cm in front of the potato. Using straight Japanese knifes is about angles.

I have the opposite experience. My relatively cheap 15 year old canon scanner can still produce crisp 600dpi scans. Printers are satanspawn.

I love raisins, but I check how large their share is in many products that I buy. Often, it's just too much.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The real answer is that raisins are a very cheap ingredient and thus massively overused in nut-, cereal- mixes, bakery products, etc.

And I 100% am with you that the change I desire is unrealistic for a multitude of reasons.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's both. The two parties need to enfranchise those of the far left and right, massively polarising.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It's extreme change, but it would address the problems far better. I'm pessimistic about it, but at the end of the day, FPP is outdated.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Exactly, that's why I said I wouldn't bet on it happening soon. Both parties would lose relevance with a shift to a more proportional system

NZ changed their electoral system from FFP to MMP in 1996. It's regarded as one of the best representative systems by most in the field.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Exactly. And with a work visa, you usually are eligible for citizenship eventually.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Right now, yes. Usually getting a work visa in EU countries should be easy. I have friends with dual citizenship of the US and NL, DE, or CH

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have several friends with both US + German/US + NL/US + CH citizenships. But you're right, often there are narrow conditions for that.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I have friends who have multiple citizenships (NL + US), and they do not pay taxes in the US (live in Europe/make no revenue in the US).

Federalism has both ups and downs- I'm no fan either-, but the winner takes it all system is the issue.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No. Germany is federal, so is Switzerland, NZ, etc. Bipolar winner takes it all system. I had a prof predict this on a political science sem

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Biggest problem blocking change is the electoral system. It's 200 years old. I wouldn't bet on change happening quickly.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

You don't need to. As long as you don't make revenue in the US, even the IRS doesn't care. Just leave.

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Well but those are not conspiracy believers/nutjobs. That group has a more realistic perspective, unfortunately.
