I’d say to help the body brace and prevent whiplash & any other ouchy things. The guy’s going at 0kph one he’s off the truck yes, but until then, he’s going from 0-30 VERY quickly relative to the truck he’s on - wouldn’t do nice things to the body.
I think it’s sportsmanship too, because the other runners have given up their chance of victory in the race to help and support the racer with the disability (and to not look like assholes)

Also “daycare workers” are (or should be) educators just as much as any other teacher - at an arguably even more vital stage of education.

iirc Clever scientists have figured out a way to accurately recreate vanilla flavour from plastic, yet to figure how to mass produce it, hopes are to stop crime & corruption associated w the Madagascan vanilla trade… I have zero sources, someone feel free to fact check me, I cbf doing it myself.
