IDK what to put here tbh. I work with kiddos on the autism spectrum, and I'm tired of people putting their need to go out and be "normal" over the health of their neighbors. I only leave the apartment because I need the money.

I think that a lot of them not only know they're stupid, but they're angry at the rest of us for it. The problem is that their belief in their stupidity makes them implicitly trust the authority figures that resonate with them because "authority = intelligent". When a new authority comes along the only metric by which they can judge them (because they're stupid) is who stoops to their level. This is partly why Trump managed to galvanize them into MAGA, among other reasons.

I think you're misunderstanding what they're saying is routine. The surgery is, not the patient

There are some wonderful videos of people lightly handling Brazilian wandering spiders, so I'm not sure that they're truly as aggressive as previously suggested. That being said, their venom is so potent that it's a terrible idea to do anything akin to what these individuals have done. Hell, the Sydney funnel-web (another famous berserker of a spider) has also been shown to not be as aggressive as previously described (though not by much)... Fun

Regardless of age or disability? Maybe just make those people work in some jobs of support or logistics rather than being infantry?

I work with mice and unfortunately that is likely a sign of underlying stress. I hope the IACUC overseeing that lab (if in the US, I know other countries have similar committees) as well as any supporting veterinary staff were aware of that behavior for animal welfare purposes.

I personally think that while stormare and Pacino are two of the best, Tom Ellis was fantastic and nuanced (albeit a bit naive, though I think ultimately the character arch was great). Gwendolyn Christie was also fairly good, though didn't have as much screentime as I would've liked)

100% agree. I moved away from MN a decade ago, no Culver's here, so I can't enjoy their top tier root beer

I usually do a Trinity or nothing at all.

The zero sugar version is actually really good. I'll take it over barqs or mug any day. If it's not available, I'll take barqs

My sister and I were helping to catch our neighbor's escaped cat, who was terrified (but also in a dangerous situation that we couldn't be patient regarding). She wore leather welding gloves over thick gardening gloves and... Well the cat bit through and scratched through it and even hit bone. The gloves were a great idea, but not enough in our case

When that starts it'll likely be civil war. Many, MANY people in MN have guns and won't remain peaceful when the mass shootings start. By then I hope that the spineless democratic leadership in this country is ready to pick a side.

And here I am being a big guy who requires comfort+ at a minimum to not take up space in adjacent seats and have even a tiny bit of leg room.

If you kick out everyone from St. Cloud and a bit of northern Minneapolis, then it would be a landslide for joining Canada

Well I know that my baseball bat is going next to the door now. Don't comply in advance, even if that means they might try to disappear you (which they may do even if you have legal documentation). This is now a fight for our lives and we need to treat it as such

28 here, watched it about 20 years ago. Still one of my favorites

I swear they're being awfully quiet about this right now

The cannabis helps mine because my primary issue now is musculoskeletal. It acts as a muscle relaxant for me. Yours, being neural swelling, needs either an antiinflammatory or an analgesic. I'm not a doctor (I'm a bio major and working on my masters, but that's not the same), but I doubt that cannabis would be able to help.

My girlfriend is allergic to all NSAIDS as well as aspirin, and Tylenol does nothing. The only pain relief I've managed to find was cannabis.

I think you have it worse though. Nerve pain only really works with analgesics, and most of the effective ones are opiates. Fusing your vertebrae around the injury might help a little, but it's usually better if that's done early.

How did you know I named my baseball bat tolerance?

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Fell out of a tree and dislocated two vertebrae when I was 8. 20 years of chronic back pain. I'm sorry you have to deal with chronic pain too... Depending on the pain and the reason for it there are some things I might suggest as alternatives or supplements to regular painkillers.

They happen frequently enough in the US that not all of them make the news anymore

This is why you go for the soft fleshy parts near the joints in their jaw and neck. Less damage to your hand AND it'll probably knock them out

PG&E tried to charge my parents for the power they sell BACK TO THE FUCKING GRID. Thank God my dad can read, otherwise he may have signed something that gave the utility company more electricity and allowed them to charge for it instead of paying for it.

At my undergrad they required 15. 3 of the classes I wanted to take during that degree were cancelled and never managed to reach that student level

It was voted in. If they rule against it it'll be a blow against states' rights. One step deeper into fascism

That's just it, I'm not disagreeing with you. I work in neurophysiology research, and in fact much of our biology is regulated by either neural or endocrine signalling. Other changes in response to stimuli often go down those exact processes. The problem is, all of this falls under biology. Psychosomatic phenomena literally cause changes through these pathways, and therefore fall under biology. Right now we're arguing the same side

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Except it isn't, because all psychological and psychosomatic components are explained by neurophysiology and endocrinology. The problem is that even with our understanding of such things they're so complicated that we have more gaps in knowledge than we have understanding at the moment.

Biology is technically the end all be all of gender affirming care BECAUSE of those components. The multiple parts don't disagree with each other, they paint a complex scene together.
