god my mom and her fiance love ChatGPT...I keep telling them not to believe it wholeheartedly, but they continue to ask it questions and believe its responses are accurate.

This is the argument I use with climate denialist…and it usually works. Because usually they believe everything Musk says and believe we need to develop technology to settle different planets…
I think this is similar to how the dems got Kamala too. Shoved down their throats. Which I think hurt them. It’s been a huge turnoff for a lot of people that agree with dems, but the DNC forces candidates they THINK will win. And ignore what the people actually want.
I think Bernie is too old at this point to secure broad support. Especially after Biden and now Trump

I’m conflicted all the time about this. Am I proud I paid for my house by myself. Absolutely. But also just having those barriers removed and allowing you to live a more peaceful life is amazing. Although I don’t think your roommate or my twin can know the gift they’ve been given.
Watched this happen to my twin. We didn’t grow up poor per se but not wealthy by any means. His in laws gave him enough money to have a paid off house in Hawaii where neither him nor his wife work full time. Their disconnect from the average person is wild.
Yup dumping money into his failing projects, talking him up to everyone that he was successful…he’s done nothing on his own merit. Road coattails into the ground until general public saw him as “successful”

Debt has essentially capped out for lower-income families, and we can see this occurring...That is why there is the development of a Y-shaped economy right now and why it is so dangerous, because the stock market, and consumer price index is being propped up by a smaller and smaller minority.

Basically, if you get a return of 8-10% you have a ton of growth with only an effective charitable donation of 3-4%/year. So there is no collection of 20% for taxes. Honestly, one of the most ludicrous tax loopholes there is.
Someone, i.e. their kids, might have to pay the taxes. However, a lot of high-value individuals are using charitable organizations to funnel tax money as well. They can do this because a charitable organization only needs to contribute 3-4% of its portfolio to charitable causes for 7 years, then the whole portfolio, growth included, is tax-free. It's wild...
