It has not changed at least in the ways that matter for this protest, as evidenced by the fact that so many are willing to fight. That so many are outraged at what's going on. Also if you created that account to join the protest, then join it. Don't discourage people from trying to save the community they love. Maybe it doesn't work. Maybe ML doesn't listen, but at least we tried to get their attention so we can fix things.
The site has changed, but the community has not. You know this very well, or you wouldn't be using a new account to try and discourage the protests.

Of course engagement is going to continue. It's not about eliminating engagement, it's about massively reducing site traffic. They fired basically the entire team for financial reasons. We don't need to completely stop traffic to hurt them, we just need to reduce it.
Hopefully our absence will get their attention. I'm going to try and go for the full month, or until Medialab gets off their butts and tries to fix things (which I very much don't believe will happen). I highly recommend reaching out to BottomShelfVodka, ElbowDeepInAHorse, or YoSoyEpic and asking if you can join their Discord servers. They will probably outlast the site if Medialab does nothing.

Spread it around on other social media. Bluesky, discord, Reddit, The site previously known as twitter, etc. With the way things are right now sadly, NO day is a good day to boycott Imgur. Just have to pick a day and go with it. I personally am doing a full month if I can. I'll get my news from somewhere else.
