The iridescence of the faces is a dead giveaway. While that can happen naturally sometimes its nowhere near as consistent as it appears here
You are correct most likely a metallic coating of some kind.
This piece most likely has a vapor deposited metallic coating similar to what you see on aqua aura quartz. 1/2
That is an absolutely gorgeous piece and the stone butcher in me thinks it would make even better cabs ;p

Yep that video is reversed. He took a finished CZ and started grinding using a cut off wheel then reversed it.
Ok that stone cutting was absolute bullshit. It's 100% reversed to make it look like he cut if from that shard.
