Yup. No excuses. We told them. We fucking told them what would happen.

As an ass man myself, I never pondered the possibility we came in fractional quantities.

Wait ... is avocado toast ok now? Starbucks and Uber are the new scapegoats for a system that is failing the next generation?

What do you call an anti-vax toddler throwing a tantrum?

There are two toddlers who live in my house. So that's a nope from me. I can just see all the pinched fingers. Regular cabinet doors are bad enough.

Yeah, the ideal version of this graph is closer to 100% mortgage across the board. Maybe some student loan debt for young people, since that kind of debt can be (not always, but often is) a lever toward a higher income.

Have to stay mindful of predatory lending, and ideally the absolute amount of debt should be less than what I think is actually is. But this graph doesn't tell us anything about that.

Exactly. These fractions don't tell much about our financial / debt health. Do 60 year olds have a lot of debt? Can't tell from this graph. 70% of it is mortgage debt, but 70% of a big number is bad, 70% of a small number is not so bad. Big and small defined relative to income, probably.

Honestly, if you are a household sitting at 100% mortgage debt, I would consider that pretty financially responsible. No CC debt, student loans paid off, no auto loans means you're doing pretty well.

Well, honestly a lot of them are stupid. There's a big portion who are just parroting the out-of-context scripture someone else told them. They might even be doing so in good faith. Their failure is intellectual, not moral. Although, I suppose nothing precludes one from exhibiting both moral and intellectual failure.

There's a fun word for this - "prooftexting."

This is adorable.

I'm actually curious what the legality of this is. Suppose that I, not being in the inner circle, but knowing that there is market manipulation fuckery going on, watch Trump very closely, monitor his socials, etc. And then decided that his "buy" post on TS indicated the manipulation was happening. Would it be legal for me to make a move like this? Does seeing the "buy" post put me in possession of material, non-public information? Not saying that's what happened here necessarily, but maybe?

A classic, and a great use of the meme. Kudos, you made an old millennial smile.

Look, I don't love it. But I recognize and respect the creativity that went into it.

I think twoamarist is pissed off about someone claiming it was loudly booed. Not that they wanted it loudly booed. At least, that's how I read it.

E^2 = (MC^2)^2 + (PC)^2

M is mass, P is momentum, E is energy. Massless particles have momentum, and thus energy.
