Honestly I agree, but if people love them then they can. It doesn't hurt me if you like something that doesn't make the world a worse place.
You are killing an animal, so make sure it doesn't suffer, use as much as you can, and acknowledge the process it goes through.
It's part of respecting the animals you eat. If you can't bear to look at the dead animal then you should probably become vegetarian.
It would still trigger your allergies, sphinx cats still produce dander, but they wouldn't be so bad. Teaching it to enjoy baths helps too.

I can understand needing to use non-toxic paints, but it isn't like they grow the shell or anything...
