Yes! Came here to say exactly that.

Oh, that's a shame! Regardless, it's a beautiful meteorite! Irons rust like crazy, so watch out for that!

Sweet widmanstätten pattern, OP! Which meteorite is this?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Only appears to be available in the US store :( Anyone fancy shipping to the UK...?!

Came here hoping someone would have posted that. Thank you! +1

Yes, I know (I do work with meteorites...). The two aren't mutually exclusive- it is an Fe-Ni alloy that's also a rock.

Fairly easy! Just got to watch out for people selling fakes. Loads of genuine sellers out there though.

Kind of both really. Technically a rock, but it's a pretty pure iron-nickel alloy, seeing as it's an iron meteorite...

I'm okay with Gibeon, seeing as it's so pretty, and hella abundant. (2/2)

Hello to another meteorite person! Normally I hate meteorites being turned into things instead of being in my lab or a museum, but (1/2)

automate the searches on the mass spec. That's how I found this one :)

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They can be. I can't really do that using the SEM (mostly because there are too many other people who want to use it), but I do (1/2)

Thank you!

I know! That may be even more exciting than the data...!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nope, far too small (most are between 100 and 1000 nanometres in size). I've been using a combination of SEM and imaging mass spectrometry
