I was once sent an empty box by amazon and they asked for photo evidence. Surely you could just take it out the box if you were lying?

I believe you cut only a portion of the bark off and leave it to regrow before somewhat before cutting some more off.

Perhaps you're not using diesel? A quick google search will tell you the differences between petrol and diesel.
dropping a match into like petrol will because it evaporates at a much higher temperature.
