It really isn't that amazing or surprising. Their "innovations" were mostly over engineered rubbish.

I think he meant "during"

Corvette C7, I reckon

You did say that it being scuttled and not killed was one of the differences between it and the death star, but ok

And I'm arguing against the general "the RN didn't kill the Bismarck" sentiment, because it's dumb. It's not some magical super battleship.

If things were the other way around and a German ship damaged a British one etc, you'd be harping that the Kriegsmarine got a kill.

It was scuttled because it's destruction or capture was inevitable, I'd call that a kill for the Royal Navy

With lobster?!

4/ And those responsible should have been punished, but probably weren't. Besides, the destruction of the Axis outweighs it all.

3/ The Allies' few crimes (eg. US Jap internment camps, Russian rapes in Berlin) pale compared to what the Axis did,

2/ So yes, Germany has suffered enough, Japan has not. Denial of the Rape of Nanking etc is still widespread.

That's my answer. Germany admits its crimes, and those responsible were punished. But that's not the case in Japan. They were never punished

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Really? It's a fact that the majority of Japanese war crimes went unpunished, and are not recognized by their government today.

Never thought I'd see my namesake on here

Yeah, not like genetically/ethnically better or any rubbish like that. Exactly as you say, better training makes for better pilots, overall

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Partly that. But mostly because the boys in the RAF were better pilots, and the Hurricane and Spitfire were better than the Bf109.

Oh that must be why the luftwaffe got totally annihilated by the RAF and the USAF. Totally.

And yet the Germans lost the Battle of Britain anyway, despite having many more planes than we did.

"No Hanz, don't use the neutral steer, you'll fuck the final drive again. We're on our third transmission this week already"

It would have effected them, but nowhere near completely stopped them. If they had come along sooner then so would our jets in response

Thats a new built replica with modern engines. The original was fairly well designed but horribly built, they used slaves and shitty metal.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It wasn't an unaerodynamic design, but the wing sweep was too little and there was a lot of surface drag from the poor build quality

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, "Wheelman". Was actually kind of fun

My favorite is Schindler's List

It's more mechanically related to the MG42, from which it's roller-delayed blowback system was adapted.

The G3 is actually derived from the Gerat 06 or MP45 rifle, not the MP44.

Straw. Helps them feel at home. A stressed flamingo is a dead flamingo.

I had no idea who they were when I watched it so I thought it was really good.

No, that's a Nazi.

You know what's also used today? The Browning M2. The M14, derived from the M1. The Mosin. The SMLE. The 1911. That was the standard.
