They use something like this in the Apollo I memorial exhibit at the Kennedy Space Center. It's actually incredibly cool, as they can run videos for each astronaut, then turn them transparent to show a variety of belongings for each one.
You're absolutely correct. I'm adopted. It cost my parents close to $20k to complete the adoption, and that was back in the 80s. It's way more challenging that a lot of people realize and not a lot of people that want kids can afford that kind of a barrier.
I'm glad I was the only one humming this while watching this fancy lad.
The sea slug post will continue until morale improves.
I can vouch for that. They replaced all of the flourescent lights in our office with LED. Took me a full day to figure out why it was so uncomfortable, till I realized the background subliminal hum was gone, and the silence had changed.
Another vote for Space Marine. Co-op story is a blast and the class based PvE missions are something else entirely. It's one of those games that just feels good to play.
White Peacock butterfly, if I remember correctly. They're pretty common in FL, but always pretty. Thank you for sharing!
I’m missing years of my life from after my kids were born. Divorced now, and there are so many memories popping up in my photos that I don’t remember being a part of.
I’m doing my best, okay? Don’t need that kind of judgement from you today, meme.
Wasn’t it Susie Izzard that said the best thing anyone could hope to be is boring, because that means you’re accepted? I don’t remember the exact quote.
Full Throttle. From the golden age of Lucasarts point and click adventure games. Unfortunately they only made the one.
As much as I agree with you, some of us are stuck here for the foreseeable future and don't have the ability to move to a blue state right now.
It bothers that this is buried so far, because this is gold!
No criticism taken. You make an absolutely valid point and I agree with you.
They were originally arrested for 9 counts and confessed to the police regarding the 10th. Showed them where to find the evidence as well. What you stated was my first thought too, until I learned he admitted to doing it.
He was arrested on 9 counts. The tenth he admitted to and showed the police where to find the video. I thought the same thing at first, that he had been set up. But he confessed.
This is a valid point. He was in therapy for a variety of mental health issues, but there is such a strong stigma around it, it's likely he was afraid of the repercussions. That said, he also appears not to have tried to hide it very well, so it's possible he wanted to get caught subconsciously in a self destructive way. No way of knowing...
I appreciate all of the view points being expressed. This is one of those situations that no one knows how to prepare for. I'm just thankful my daughter wasn't involved at all or I'd probably be in jail too for aggravated assault.
I'm going to have a conversation with my ex-wife on whether or not to broach this with her. We both have always stressed bodily autonomy and consensual contact with both kids as well as speaking with an adult if someone does something that makes you uncomfortable. Even to the point where we have them ask permission to hug people and that they don't have to hug if they don't want to.
My girlfriend has been doing it and warned me as well, but I really appreciate the warning. I've heard that it brings everything up to the surface and I have 38 years of complex trauma to sort through.
That's what makes it worse. I read the court documents and the subject was the same age as my daughter.
Thankfully she wasn't involved and doesn't know what happened. Most of his interactions with me were when she was with her mother, so he wasn't a family friend, to which I am thankful for.
Oh damn... I had forgotten all about that. Valid example.
I appreciate the advice. I started therapy last week to do EMDR to treat trauma response. I found it ironic that I found out about this right after my first session.
My parents knocked it out of the park and surprised me with this this year! I normally don't want people making a big deal about gifts for me, so this brought a tear to my eye.

I didn't know this was a thing. You just saved me a massive headache on my Hubble model from the Discovery Shuttle set!
